They fly every weekend at City Museum. But at the end of August, the St. Louis Arches are reaching new heights. The Circus Day Foundation is thrilled to announce that the fabulous, flying St. Louis Arches have been invited to perform at the American Youth Circus Festival being held in St. Paul, Minnesota August 21 24, 2003. The Arches are homegrown circus stars who range in age from 6 24 years. This talented troupe has performed coast to coast and is seen regularly in the everydaycircus ring at City Museum. The St. Louis Arches come from throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area and perform a wide variety of circus skills including tumbling, trapeze, juggling, rolling globe, mini-trampoline and much more. They are certainly St. Louis’ bounciest ambassadors.
The Arches aren’t the only ones invited to the Festival! Donald Hughes, Joshua Routh and Richard Kennison, three of the Circus Day Foundation’s teachers, and April Zink, the Foundation’s Community Circus Bandleader, will be conducting workshops at the Festival. In addition, Circus Day Foundation’s artistic/executive director, Jessica Hentoff is the keynote speaker. Her address will be on “Circus Connecting Communities.” St. Louis’ Circus Day Foundation has been acknowledged across the country for its ground-breaking and community-connecting projects like Circus Salaam Shalom and Far East Meets Midwest.
