Please note a schedule change for the a la Carte classes! For the first session, the times for the equilibristics and aerial classes are being switched, so Equilibristics/Object Manipulation is now from 1:30-2:30 and Aerial/Object Manipulation is now from 9:30-10:30.
It is designed to develop self-confidence, hand-eye coordination, trust in others and respect for oneself. By turning you upside down we teach you to stand on your own two feet. By dropping objects we teach you to catch them. By having you walk all over someone we teach you to take care of them. By having you clown around we teach you take yourself seriously. All this and you'll have fun doing it in a Circus Skills Class from Circus Day Foundation!
Real Circus Performers teach you tumbling, juggling, partner acrobatics, stilt-walking, rolling globe, wire-walking, pyramids, trapeze, clowning and more. Optional classes on animal training are also available. We've taught children of all ages (well, from 5 - 82) the joy and art of the circus! Teachers can come to you or you can come to our facility on the third floor of the fantastic City Museum in downtown St. Louis.
Our staff is headed by Jessica Hentoff, Artistic Director of everydaycircus and Circus Day Foundation coach of the famous St. Louis Arches, former co-director of the Berkshire Children's Circus Camp and former school director of the Circus Flora School for the Circus Arts Foundation of Missouri. Ms. Hentoff has performed throughout North America as an aerialist, trick cyclist, clown, juggler, fire-eater and animal trainer. She has taught circus skills to people of all ages and abilities including deaf children and teenagers with Downs Syndrome. Jessica has over 30 years of teaching experience.
